Return & refund policy
Effective 2 January 2026 · Paintlink Education Network Sdn. Bhd.
1. Our own fees: there are none
Paintlink does not charge students or parents for counselling, shortlisting, scholarship checks or application support, so there is no Paintlink fee to return. If anyone claiming to represent Paintlink ever asks you for a counselling payment, do not pay it — report it to [email protected] immediately.
2. Money you may pay to universities
During enrolment you will pay certain amounts directly to institutions — application fees, registration deposits, caution money, tuition instalments. Those payments are governed by each institution's own refund schedule, which we give you in writing before you pay anything. As a general pattern across our partner network:
- Application fees (typically RM 50–300) are processing charges and are almost never refundable.
- Registration deposits are usually refundable in full if the institution rejects the application or a visa is refused, and partially refundable on withdrawal before orientation — deadlines matter enormously here.
- Caution money is normally returned after graduation or withdrawal, less any outstanding charges.
- Tuition instalments follow a sliding scale: withdrawal before semester start commonly returns 70–100%, within the first weeks a reduced portion, and later withdrawals usually nothing for the running semester.
3. How we help when plans change
If you withdraw, defer or switch programmes, tell your counsellor before you tell anyone else. We know each partner institution's refund calendar and escalation contacts, and we will prepare the written refund request, submit it through the correct channel and chase it until it is resolved. This assistance is part of the free service, including when you are switching away from a programme we helped you enter.
4. Scholarships and refunds
Where a scholarship or rebate was applied, refunds are calculated on the net amount actually paid. Withdrawing can also void conditional awards for future semesters — we will spell out those consequences in writing before you confirm any withdrawal, so no one is surprised later.
5. Timeframes and disputes
Partner institutions typically process approved refunds within 30 to 60 days to the original payer's account. If a refund you are owed under an institution's published schedule is delayed beyond that, we escalate on your behalf. Unresolved disputes with an institution may also be pursued through Malaysia's Tribunal for Consumer Claims; we will provide the documentation trail you need.
6. Questions first, payments second
The cheapest refund is the payment you did not rush into. Before paying any deposit, ask us: "what happens to this money if plans change?" — a one-line email that has saved our families a great deal. [email protected] · +60 3-7931 6248.
