Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This site uses remarkably few of them, and none for advertising. Here is the complete inventory.

1. Strictly necessary cookies

These make the site function and cannot be switched off through the banner:

PHP session cookie (PHPSESSID) — created when you open a page, used to protect the enquiry form against forged submissions. It contains a random identifier, nothing personal, and expires when you close the browser.
pl_consent — records the cookie choice you made in the consent panel so we stop asking. Kept for up to twelve months.

2. Preference cookies (optional)

With your consent, we may set pl_view and pl_lastlevel — small preference cookies that remember display choices and the study level you looked at last, so return visits start in the right place. Declining them changes nothing important; the site simply forgets you between visits.

3. What we do not set

No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no social-media pixels, no analytics profiles tied to your identity. Third-party resources we load (Google Fonts, the jsDelivr CDN serving our consent library) deliver static files and are not used by us to track you.

4. Making and changing your choice

On your first visit a consent panel appears with Accept and Deny options carrying equal weight. Your decision is remembered. To revisit it later, use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page, or the small consent icon at the lower-left of the screen — both reopen the panel where you can change or withdraw consent in one click.

5. Browser controls

Every modern browser can block or delete cookies independently of our banner — look under Privacy or Site Settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will prevent the enquiry form from submitting, which is the only breakage you would notice on this site.
