Funding & scholarships
RM 41 million matched to students so far — most of it from awards families didn't know existed. Here is how the money actually works.
Where the money hides
University scholarships are budgeted per intake and awarded until the pot empties. The families who win them are rarely the ones with the best grades — they are the ones who applied while the pot was full. That is the entire secret, and it is why timing sits at the centre of everything we do.
Award bands our students typically secure
| Award type | Typical value | Usual basis |
|---|---|---|
| Merit entry scholarship | 25% – 100% of tuition | SPM / IGCSE / STPM / UEC results |
| High-achiever awards | 50% – full waiver + allowance | Straight-A profiles, co-curricular record |
| Needs-based bursary | 10% – 40% of tuition | Household income documentation |
| Early-enrolment rebate | RM 1,000 – 8,000 | Confirming before a stated date |
| Sibling & alumni discount | 5% – 20% | A family member at the same institution |
| Postgraduate assistantship | Fee waiver + stipend | Research degrees, by supervisor |
The Paintlink funding check
- Every shortlisted programme is checked against live award deadlines — not last year's brochure
- Awards are stacked where rules allow: merit + early-bird + sibling is common
- PTPTN eligibility confirmed for accredited local programmes, with repayment maths explained
- Documentation assembled and proofread before submission — most rejections are paperwork, not merit
One rule we hold to: we never let a scholarship sell you the wrong course. A 50% award on an ill-fitting programme is a 100% loss.
